Overview

Chenega Government Mission Solutions is seeking a Dental Assistant II to support the Indian Health Service's Fort Belknap Service Unit in Harlem, Montana. The role involves providing chair-side assistance, performing various dental lab procedures, and ensuring compliance with infection control practices within a team-oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide chair-side dental assistance
  • Expose radiographs and take impressions
  • Perform recordkeeping and clinic maintenance duties
  • Clean, oil, and sterilize dental equipment
  • Store and keep records of dental supplies
  • Receive patients and verify appointments
  • Document infection control practices
  • Perform dental lab procedures including pouring impressions and constructing custom trays
  • Educate patients on post-operative care and disease prevention
  • Maintain patient records according to accrediting body requirements

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
  • Minimum 1 year of direct experience in Dental Assistance
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and procedures
  • Ability to explain post-operative instructions to patients
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Immunization records as proof of immunity or vaccination
