Overview

Santander Holdings USA Inc is seeking a Senior Underwriting Associate in Dallas, Texas, to manage credit risk and underwrite complex loans for automotive dealers. The role involves analyzing financial statements, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with underwriting standards while contributing to a customer-centric transformation within the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage credit risk and a portfolio of complex multi-dealer groups.
  • Underwrite loans by analyzing dealer financial statements and cash flow.
  • Review corporate tax returns and dealership financial statements.
  • Independently prepare proposals and modifications for loans.
  • Manage the end-to-end underwriting process for renewals and new business.
  • Analyze financial statements, highlight risk, and monitor portfolio financials.
  • Review loan documents and credit memos submitted by junior staff.
  • Interface with customers and internal partners to obtain necessary data.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, or related field.
  • 9+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, credit structuring, and commercial underwriting.
  • Experience evaluating credit risk and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Financial statement analysis, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, detail orientation, and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Customer service orientation and professional stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to mentor less experienced team members and adaptability.

  • Base pay range of $86,250 to $145,000 USD depending on skills and experience.
