Overview

The Day Program Professional at Beacon Specialized Living is responsible for ensuring engaging and person-centered experiences for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, severe mental illness, and high-acuity behaviors. The role supports community integration and overall well-being while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement daily activity schedules including community outings and in-house programming.
  • Ensure health and safety of individuals during program hours and community activities.
  • Provide personal care and support as needed.
  • Assist individuals with personal finances, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Utilize crisis prevention and intervention strategies.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary planning and carry out goals from individual service plans.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete required annual training.
  • Promote community awareness and inclusion.

Required skills

  • Experience in community engagement and mental health support.
  • Knowledge of behavior management and crisis intervention.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
