Overview

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Controls Technician to join its Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring System teams. This role involves working within AWS data centers, focusing on the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems to ensure safety, security, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and startup of equipment and control systems within data centers
  • Execute point to point checkouts between field devices and controllers
  • Conduct first-line diagnostics and maintenance of instrumentation for BMS and EPMS
  • Configure and calibrate sensors and perform network configuration and communication testing
  • Supervise low voltage electrical contractors during wiring and installation of field devices
  • Provide red-lined drawings and verify accuracy of as-built schematics
  • Conduct root cause analysis and ensure compliance with safety methodologies
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies and contribute to on-call schedules

Required skills

  • Technical background in industrial instrumentation or controls
  • Experience with electrical systems, wiring, and networking
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and control panel drawings
  • Familiarity with close loop controls and temperature/pressure sensors
  • Experience with mission critical low and medium voltage electrical systems
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting industrial controls and programming
