Job Description

Overview

Amazon is looking for a motivated and data-driven Procurement Category Manager to enhance the sourcing and procurement for their data center construction projects in the Americas. The role requires strong supply chain expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to manage large-scale procurement improvement initiatives while collaborating with internal teams and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and implement sourcing strategies within the construction services space
  • Collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to drive efficiencies
  • Reduce risks and costs associated with procurement
  • Develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance
  • Drive results through competitive bidding, negotiation, and data analysis
  • Prioritize activities to support data center capacity availability and safety
  • Manage projects locally and globally

Required skills

  • 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, and inventory management experience
  • 5+ years of strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations and contract management
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field
