Job Description

Overview

The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Supervisor at JARP Industries Inc. will oversee the welding team, ensuring compliance with welding standards and procedures while supporting operations and engineering teams. This role includes hiring, mentoring, and training welding personnel as well as driving continuous improvement initiatives related to welding processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain welding standards, procedures, and instructions
  • Conduct research and development of new welding technology
  • Create and manage budgets; perform cost analysis and return on investments
  • Verify compliance with welding regulations through visual inspections
  • Assist engineering in evaluating customer welding requirements and materials
  • Prepare technical reports related to welding
  • Coordinate training and evaluation of welders for compliance
  • Support investigations of customer complaints and nonconformance
  • Audit welding processes under the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Manage continuous improvement projects within the welding team

Required skills

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credentials
  • 5 years of experience in related roles within manufacturing or engineering
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Technical drawing and blueprint interpretation
  • Knowledge of PQR/WPS to AWS D1.1
  • Knowledge of NDT/NDE techniques, including magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Strong team leadership and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with CAD and process analysis
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and ability to learn new technologies
