Overview

The Customs Broker / Import Operations Lead at Gordini USA Inc is responsible for managing the import process on a daily basis in a multi-company environment. This role focuses on ensuring efficient movement of products from factory to warehouse while addressing documentation and compliance issues in real-time.

Key responsibilities

  • Personally manage customs clearance from pre-alert through final delivery
  • Review and approve entry filings with a focus on accuracy
  • File ISFs timely and ensure all documentation is complete
  • Resolve documentation discrepancies with vendors before cargo hits the port
  • Work directly with brokers and forwarders to address shipment issues
  • Handle CBP requests, exams, and holds with urgency
  • Maintain compliance with CBP and partner agencies
  • Ensure clean, audit-ready documentation
  • Coordinate with sourcing and vendors to improve document accuracy
  • Communicate with finance on duties, payments, and variances
  • Collaborate with product development teams on classification

Required skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on import experience
  • Strong working knowledge of HTS classification and entry processes
  • Experience managing real shipments and problems
  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in detail-oriented environments
  • Experience with apparel, accessories, or consumer goods imports
  • Problem-solving and compliance management skills
