Overview

The Customer Service Specialist II at Ace Hardware Corporation is responsible for receiving and resolving inquiries from retailers regarding orders and stock status. The role emphasizes teamwork and safety while supporting the company’s core values and culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive telephone inquiries from retailers regarding order status, adjustments, and stock information.
  • Retrieve retailer information and stock status, and make changes to purchase orders.
  • Follow up on inquiries by checking computer programs for delivery information.
  • Work closely with shipping and traffic departments regarding delivery status.
  • Maintain files of active orders and post activity such as change notices and credit adjustments.
  • Prepare paperwork for accounting regarding credits and debits.
  • Review all Returned Goods Forms for correct reason codes for inventory adjustments.

Required skills

  • Minimum high school diploma; some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years customer service experience.
  • Excellent phone and communication skills.
  • Superb problem-solving skills and ability to handle anxious customers.
  • Excellent computer skills; experience with SAP, AS400, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred.
