Overview

The Customer Service Engineer at China Telecom Americas plays a critical role in supporting maintenance operations for data center colocation and IT network solutions in Los Angeles. This position involves 24/7 on-call responsibilities and requires effective troubleshooting and project management in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance operations to uphold engineering policies
  • Provide on-call support for colocation deployment and connectivity
  • Analyze and maintain facilities, including HVAC and power systems
  • Collaborate with data center providers for colocation design
  • Manage colocation implementation projects, including network connectivity
  • Assist customers with deployment updates and daily operations
  • Respond to customer claims and manage trouble tickets
  • Conduct service testing and delivery

Required skills

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, IT, telecommunications, or equivalent
  • Solid knowledge of computer and telecommunications networks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with transport and IP networks
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to respond quickly to equipment sounds and alarms
