Overview

Avtec Finishing is seeking an experienced Custodian for their manufacturing facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization within the facility, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for employees and visitors. This position offers opportunities for career advancement in the Metal Finishing industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks to company standards
  • Sanitize and disinfect surfaces, restrooms, and common areas
  • Empty trash and recycling bins, and dispose of waste properly
  • Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas
  • Assist in setting up and cleaning after company events or meetings
  • Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to the Maintenance Manager
  • Follow all safety procedures regarding cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Secure doors after cleaning to maintain building security

Required skills

  • Proven experience in custodial or janitorial field
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and understanding English
  • Ability to read a ruler/tape measure and analog clock
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and move heavy objects
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
