Job Description

Overview

As a Curriculum Development Advisor at Cuso International, you will contribute to enhancing the Ethiopian technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system through a collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Skills. This volunteer role focuses on developing Competency-Based Training (CBT) and ensuring alignment between local labor demands and international standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with local industry leaders to perform industrial gap analyses.
  • Organize and conduct DACUM workshops.
  • Transition instructional methods to Competency-Based Training (CBT).
  • Develop modular curricula emphasizing practical skills and digital literacy.
  • Implement assessments to ensure the recognition of the Certificate of Competency in the job market.
  • Create assessment banks with practical projects, oral examinations, and observation checklists.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or vocational training-related field
  • At least 5 years of work experience in technical and vocational training in a leadership role
  • 2 years of industry experience in leadership or as an expert
  • Knowledge of technical and vocational training for trainers
  • Proficiency in digital technologies
