Job Description

Overview

The Curriculum Development Advisor role involves working with the Ministry of Labour and Skills in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, focusing on enhancing the Ethiopian TVET system. Volunteers will contribute to developing high-quality curricula and assessment tools, addressing gaps between local labor market demands and international standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure alignment of local labor demands with international standards through drafting guidelines.
  • Perform industrial gap analyses and organize DACUM workshops with local industry leaders.
  • Transition traditional instruction methods to Competency-Based Training (CBT).
  • Develop modular curricula emphasizing practical skills and incorporating Green TVET principles.
  • Implement comprehensive assessments to enhance the value of the Certificate of Competency in the job market.
  • Create extensive assessment banks featuring practical projects and oral examinations.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Master of Science (preferred)
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in technical and vocational training
  • 2 years industry experience in a leadership or expert role
  • Knowledge of effective training practices and digital technologies
