Job Description

Overview

Cuso International is seeking a Curriculum Development Advisor for a volunteer position aimed at strengthening Ethiopia's technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system. This role involves collaborating with the Ministry of Labour and Skills in Addis Ababa to develop high-quality Occupational Standards, Modular Curricula, and Assessment Toolkits while fostering certified local Lead Trainers. The position focuses on aligning local labor demands with international standards through competency-based training.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform industrial gap analyses and organize 'DACUM' workshops with local industry leaders.
  • Transition traditional instruction to Competency-Based Training (CBT).
  • Develop modular curricula emphasizing practical skills and integrating 'Green TVET' principles.
  • Implement thorough assessments for the 'Certificate of Competency' (CoC) to be valued in the job market.
  • Create extensive assessment banks comprising practical projects, oral examinations, and observation checklists.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or vocational training-related field
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in technical and vocational training
  • 2 years of industry experience in leadership or expert roles
  • Knowledge of technical and vocational training for trainers and effective training practices
  • Proficiency in using digital technologies
