Overview

The Cuisinier à la chaine at SSP Canada is responsible for preparing delicious meals, maintaining kitchen operations, and ensuring food quality in a fast-paced airport environment. This role is ideal for those eager to start a culinary career and involves following strict recipes and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare food orders while adhering to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain proper kitchen setup and organization throughout each shift.
  • Handle, store, and rotate food products correctly.
  • Ensure the functionality and cleanliness of assigned equipment and machines.
  • Supply, cut, and store perishable products daily to maintain quality.
  • Complete control sheets as needed during shifts.
  • Clean and maintain the workspace and storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers.
  • Take full responsibility for the quality of the served products.

Required skills

  • Previous experience in a full-service kitchen
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Food handler's permit as required by law
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for long periods
