Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist for their Weekend Program in Harvey, Louisiana. The role involves assessing patients and performing routine computed tomography procedures while ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols. The ideal candidate will also serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, contributing to the educational environment of the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Perform routine computed tomography procedures
  • Explain procedures to patients for clear understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment according to protocols
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality
  • Complete quality control procedures in compliance with regulations
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory and schedules
  • Adapt communication style to suit individual patient needs
  • Remain knowledgeable on compliance and regulatory standards

Required skills

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • CT registry eligible within one year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in computer and web-based applications
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and cardiac anatomy
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain flexibility in schedule
