Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist for St. Martin Hospital Radiology in Grand Coteau, Louisiana. In this role, you will assess patients and perform routine computed tomography procedures while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Additionally, you will serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, contributing to the educational mission of the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine computed tomography procedures.
  • Serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
  • Operate imaging equipment and complete imaging procedures according to protocols.
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality.
  • Complete quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory and equipment maintenance.
  • Adapt communication style to specific patient populations.
  • Remain knowledgeable about federal, state, and local laws and compliance requirements.

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in using computers and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language.
  • Ability to operate imaging equipment and identify potential issues.
  • Flexibility in work duties and hours.
