Job Description

Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist for the St. Martin Hospital Radiology department in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. This role involves assessing patients and performing routine computed tomography procedures while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The CT Technologist will also serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Independently operate imaging equipment according to protocols
  • Explain procedures to patients for understanding
  • Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures in accordance with regulations
  • Assist in departmental operations such as inventory and scheduling
  • Adapt communication and behavior based on patient population
  • Remain knowledgeable of compliance laws and standards

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
  • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in using computers and software applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work under pressure and self-direct
