Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist - PRN to assess patients and perform routine computed tomography procedures while adhering to prescribed radiation safety protocols. The role includes serving as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, along with ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Use radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients for understanding
  • Independently operate equipment for imaging procedures
  • Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures in line with regulatory standards
  • Assist in facilitating departmental operations like inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Adapt communication and interaction methods to respect patient privacy

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • CT experience preferred
  • Proficiency in computer, software, and web applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical terminology
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently
