Job Description

Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to perform routine computed tomography procedures and ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols. This role also includes serving as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, contributing to departmental operations and enhancing patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform imaging procedures in accordance with safety protocols
  • Serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Independently operate imaging equipment and review images for quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures as required
  • Facilitate departmental operations including inventory and staff schedules
  • Adapt communication and behavior to meet the needs of diverse patient populations
  • Remain knowledgeable on regulatory standards and ensure compliance

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Proficiency in using computers and software applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical terminology
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain flexibility in duties and hours
  • General knowledge of cardiac anatomy and relevant physiological principles
