Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist - PRN to join their team in Carriere, Mississippi. The role involves assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols. The technologist will also serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment dedicated to patient care and innovation.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures according to safety protocols
  • Serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems for patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate imaging equipment and review images for quality assurance
  • Perform quality control procedures in compliance with regulations
  • Assist with departmental operations, including inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Adapt communication and procedures to different patient populations
  • Remain knowledgeable of applicable laws and accreditation standards

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARRT registry eligible
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in CT imaging preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Windows applications and relevant software
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical terminology
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure
  • Flexibility in work schedule
