Overview

Ochsner Health System is looking for a CT Technologist to join their team in Kenner on a PRN basis. This role involves assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols. The CT Technologist will also serve as a clinical mentor to junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures according to prescribed protocols
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate CT equipment and perform imaging procedures
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality before transmission
  • Assist in departmental operations including inventory and staff scheduling
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Adapt behavior to specific patient populations

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • CT imaging experience
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Data entry skills
  • Proficient in Windows-style applications and various software packages
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • General knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics
