Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to join their team in Kenner, Louisiana. This role involves assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures following strict radiation safety protocols. The CT Technologist will also serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, contributing to the professional development within the healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate CT equipment per protocol
  • Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality standards are met
  • Facilitate departmental operations such as inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Adapt communication and behavior to each patient population
  • Maintain compliance with laws and accreditation standards
  • Assist in interventional procedures requiring ultrasonic guidance

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • CT experience preferred
  • ARRT certification or registry eligible
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Computer skills for data entry and information retrieval
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Windows applications
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Flexibility in work schedule
