Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist for a PRN position in Kenner, Louisiana. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while adhering to safety protocols. You will also provide clinical mentorship to junior staff and students, contributing to a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate imaging equipment according to protocols
  • Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Assist in departmental operations including inventory and staff schedules
  • Adapt behavior and communication style to different patient populations
  • Remain knowledgeable of and compliant with applicable laws and regulations

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • CT experience preferred
  • Registered by ARRT or CT certified
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Windows-style applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and ability to work under pressure
