Overview

The CT Technologist at Ochsner Health System is responsible for assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures in compliance with safety protocols. This role also involves mentoring junior staff and students, contributing to a strong commitment to patient care and professional development within the healthcare setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures safely
  • Act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and ensure procedural accuracy
  • Operate imaging equipment according to established protocols
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality before transmission
  • Facilitate departmental operations including inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory standards
  • Adapt communication and behavior to meet patient population needs

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • CT experience preferred
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Windows applications
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain flexibility in work duties
