Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist in Kenner, Louisiana, responsible for assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while adhering to radiation safety protocols. This role also includes mentoring junior staff and students, ensuring high-quality imaging, and facilitating departmental operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures following safety protocols
  • Act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and ensure procedure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Independently operate imaging equipment and complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality before transmission
  • Assist in departmental operations such as inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Adapt communication and behavior to meet the needs of various patient populations

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligible for CT registry
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced certification in CT preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Computer skills for data entry and software use
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
