Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist for their Interventional Radiology department. The role involves assessing patients and performing routine computed tomography procedures while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Additionally, the technologist will serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, playing a vital part in both patient care and educational development.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine computed tomography procedures
  • Follow prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols
  • Serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Operate imaging equipment to complete procedures according to protocol
  • Ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards before transmission
  • Facilitate departmental operations such as inventory and staff schedules
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in computers and web-based applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Flexible schedule availability
