Overview

As a CT Technologist at Ochsner Health System, you will be responsible for assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while adhering to safety protocols. This role also includes mentoring junior staff and students, ensuring a collaborative and educational environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures according to safety protocols
  • Mentor junior staff and students in clinical practices
  • Verify physician orders to ensure accuracy
  • Operate imaging equipment and complete procedures per protocol
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality
  • Complete quality control procedures in compliance with standards
  • Assist in departmental operations like inventory and equipment maintenance

Required skills

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or CT registry eligible
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Competency in radiology information systems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Windows-based applications and specific software
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality
