Overview

The CT Technologist at Ochsner Health System is responsible for assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures in accordance with safety protocols. This role also includes clinical mentoring for junior staff and students, highlighting the importance of patient care within the healthcare setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders and ensure accuracy of procedures
  • Utilize radiology information systems for patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients for their understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment according to protocols
  • Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality
  • Perform quality control procedures in compliance with regulations
  • Assist in departmental operations including inventory and equipment maintenance
