Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a full-time CT Technologist to assess patients and perform routine CT procedures while adhering to radiation safety protocols. This role involves clinical mentoring for junior staff and students, ensuring high-quality imaging and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Independently operate imaging equipment according to protocols
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality
  • Assist with departmental operations including inventory and staff schedules
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to safety standards
  • Adapt behavior to specific patient populations

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • CT experience preferred
  • ARRT certification or eligibility
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with Windows applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to flexible schedules
