Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to join their team in Meraux, Louisiana. This role involves assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The technologist will also serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures safely
  • Verify physician orders and procedure accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment for imaging according to protocols
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality before transmission
  • Complete quality control procedures in line with regulatory standards
  • Facilitate departmental operations including inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Adapt communication style based on patient population

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • CT imaging experience preferred
  • Registered by ARRT or ARRT registry eligible
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced certification in CT required within one year
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in various software applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and anatomical terminology
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work self-directed
