Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to join their team in Norco, Louisiana. This full-time role involves assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while adhering to radiation safety protocols. The CT Technologist will also serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols
  • Mentor junior staff and students in clinical practices
  • Operate imaging equipment independently and accurately
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Review patient images to meet diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures as per regulatory standards
  • Facilitate departmental operations including inventory and scheduling
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with relevant regulations

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • CT experience preferred
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligible
  • Advanced certification in CT within one year of eligibility
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Computer skills for data entry and retrieval
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to patient needs
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and Doppler physics
