Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a full-time CT Technologist to join their team in Terrytown, Louisiana. The role involves assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while adhering to radiation safety protocols. The position also serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, emphasizing the importance of patient care and quality imaging.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures in accordance with safety protocols
  • Provide clinical mentorship to junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and ensure accuracy
  • Operate imaging equipment independently and perform procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures and perform necessary notifications
  • Assist in departmental operations such as inventory and staff scheduling
  • Adapt communication and methods to respect patient privacy
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible
  • CT experience preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency with Windows applications and data entry
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • General knowledge of cardiac anatomy and Doppler physics
