Key responsibilities

  • Assesses patients and performs routine CT procedures in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Acts as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.
  • Verifies physician orders to ensure accuracy of procedures.
  • Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate patient care.
  • Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
  • Operates imaging equipment according to established protocols.
  • Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
  • Completes quality control procedures per regulatory standards.
  • Facilitates departmental operations such as inventory and staff schedules.
  • Complies with safety and privacy standards in patient care.

Required skills

  • Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed by the Louisiana State Radiology Technology Board of Examiners.
  • Advanced certification in CT required within 2 years of employment.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficient in Windows applications and data entry.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical terminology.
