Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist for their Freestanding ED in Marrero, Louisiana. This role involves performing routine CT procedures, assessing patients, and collaborating with staff radiologists while ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The position also includes mentoring junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment for imaging procedures
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures as per regulatory standards
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Adapt behavior for specific patient populations

Required skills

  • Completion of formal training in Radiologic Technology
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Licensed by the Louisiana State Radiology Technology Board of Examiners
  • Advanced certification in CT within 2 years of employment
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
  • Proficiency in Windows-style applications and various software packages
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
