Job Description

Overview

The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT) at NCH is responsible for producing quality CT scans while providing high-quality patient care. This role requires expertise in healthcare technology and patient interaction to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety in a full-time, 12-hour night shift position.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce quality Computerized Tomography scans
  • Provide high-quality patient care and comfort
  • Perform ancillary duties as assigned
  • Understand and work with HIS, RIS, and PACS systems
  • Organize patient information and reports for imaging interpretation
  • Interview patients for history and obtain necessary authorizations
  • Ensure minimal radiation exposure to patients and self
  • Demonstrate proper radiation safety practices
  • Identify patients using two identifiers
  • Document equipment failures and maintain proper supplies

Required skills

  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program
  • ARRT Registered in Radiology
  • CT certification within 1 year of hire
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license in Florida
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a CT Technologist preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge
