Job Description

Overview

As a CT Technologist at UNC Health in Clayton, North Carolina, you will be responsible for conducting CT procedures and tests to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. This role involves ensuring patient safety, administering contrast, and managing image transfer within the PACS system, while maintaining quality control and efficiency in the imaging department.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify patient identification and obtain patient history.
  • Conduct CT scans and manipulate images following protocols.
  • Administer oral and IV contrast to patients according to established procedures.
  • Maintain understanding of PACS and manage image transfer to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform tasks efficiently to create consistent workflow and produce quality diagnostic images.
  • Precept new employees and students.

Required skills

  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible.
  • Advanced certification in CT within one year of employment.
  • Current competency in HCP BLS.
  • Knowledge of CT algorithms and imaging protocols.
  • Experience with PACS and EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
