Overview

The CT Technologist at Ochsner Health System in Marion, Mississippi is responsible for assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while adhering to radiation safety protocols. This role includes mentoring junior staff and students, ensuring high-quality imaging, and facilitating departmental operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures safely
  • Act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and assure procedure accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients for their understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment according to protocol
  • Review patient images to meet diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures as per regulatory standards
  • Assist in departmental operations including inventory and equipment maintenance

Required skills

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography (R)
  • Current unrestricted state license in practice
  • Advanced certification in CT required within two years of employment
  • Proficient in Windows applications and various software packages
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work confidentially
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and anatomy
