Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to assess patients and perform routine computed tomography procedures while ensuring adherence to prescribed safety protocols. The role involves mentoring junior staff and students and requires effective communication and a commitment to patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform computed tomography procedures according to safety protocols.
  • Serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.
  • Verify physician orders and assure accuracy before procedures.
  • Independently operate imaging equipment and ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Complete timely quality control procedures and comply with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate departmental operations including inventory and staff schedules.
  • Adapt communication and behavior to the specific patient population.
  • Stay informed on relevant laws and ensure compliance with standards.

Required skills

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in using computers and healthcare communication tools
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain flexibility in schedule
