Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to responsibly assess patients and perform routine CT procedures following strict radiation safety protocols. This role also includes mentoring junior staff and students within a clinical setting, making a significant impact on patient care and departmental operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety procedures and protocols
  • Mentor junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and procedure accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients for understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment independently according to protocol
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality
  • Facilitate departmental operations such as inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Report any unethical or questionable behaviors

Required skills

  • Clinical CT experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography
  • Current state license in practice
  • Advanced certification in CT within two years of employment
  • Computer skills for data entry and image retrieval
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality
  • General knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics
