Job Description

Overview

The CT Technologist at Mercy plays a crucial role in producing CT and diagnostic medical images, operating equipment, and assisting physicians during examinations. This position involves working collaboratively within the radiology department, ensuring patient safety and care while adhering to safety standards and maintaining current certifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Interpret orders for CT and diagnostic exams
  • Produce and manage CT and medical images
  • Position and transfer patients safely
  • Select and operate imaging equipment as directed
  • Assist physicians in administering medications and enhancing agents
  • Maintain CPR certification and assist in first aid when necessary
  • Work collaboratively with team members during weekend and evening shifts
  • Report incidents to the Section Manager
  • Recommend equipment procurement and maintenance
  • Stay current with required continuing education and credentialing

Required skills

  • Experience in Radiologic Technology
  • Knowledge of CT imaging and medical imaging
  • Familiarity with safety standards in healthcare
  • Ability to operate radiology information systems and office equipment
  • A.R.R.T. registered or registry eligible
  • Advanced Level certification in CT Scan or working towards it
  • Excellent patient care skills
  • Team collaboration and communication
