Job Description

Overview

The CT Tech at Ochsner Health System will be responsible for assessing patients and performing computed tomography procedures in line with safety protocols. This full-time night position also involves mentoring junior staff and students while ensuring high standards of patient care and compliance with diagnostic quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Independently operate imaging equipment according to protocols
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Review and ensure quality of patient images before transmission
  • Facilitate departmental operations including inventory and staff schedules
  • Adapt communication and procedures to respect patient privacy and needs
  • Assist physicians with interventional procedures as necessary

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
  • Registered by ARRT or registry eligible
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficient in using radiology information systems and imaging equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Current unrestricted state license and ability to comply with regulations
