Job Description

Overview

The CT Technologist II at Albany Memorial Hospital will work full-time during the day shift, focusing on performing CT procedures in line with departmental standards. Albany Memorial Hospital, part of St. Peter's Health Partners, offers a supportive environment that emphasizes medical imaging and patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all CT procedures as per department standards under the direction of the Chief of Medical Imaging.
  • Obtain and record complete clinical histories pertinent to the requested examination.
  • Evaluate requests for appropriateness and refer concerns to coordinator and/or radiologist.
  • Instruct patients about the nature of the exam being performed and communicate post-procedure information.
  • Ensure proper radiation protection measures for patients and staff following the ALARA principle.
  • Complete all required documentation related to patient care and imaging procedures.
  • Demonstrate proper use of positioning devices and equipment necessary for safe and accurate exams.
  • Assist in training new personnel.

Required skills

  • AAS Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a CT Technologist
  • Current ARRT registration
  • NYS license required and certification to inject
  • Experience with Siemen's equipment preferred
  • Strong technical and communication skills
