Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Tech to join their team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This full-time position involves assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols. The role also includes clinical mentorship for junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures according to safety protocols
  • Verify physician orders and ensure procedural accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate imaging equipment and complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images for diagnostic quality
  • Assist in departmental operations including inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Adapt communication style for diverse patient populations
  • Stay informed on compliance with laws and accreditation standards

Required skills

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • CT registry eligible within one year
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and relevant software
  • General knowledge of cardiac anatomy and Doppler physics
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure
  • Flexibility in work duties and hours
