Overview

Ochsner Health System is looking for a CT Tech to join their team in Harvey, Louisiana. The role involves assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols. The CT Tech will also mentor junior staff and students, making a significant impact in patient care and departmental operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures according to radiation safety protocols
  • Act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate imaging equipment and review patient images for diagnostic quality
  • Complete quality control procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Assist in departmental operations such as inventory and equipment maintenance

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • CT experience preferred
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARRT registry eligible
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Computer skills for data entry and information retrieval
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and specific software packages
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work efficiently under pressure
