Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a CT Tech to join their team in Boutte, Louisiana. The role involves assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while adhering to radiation safety protocols. This position also includes mentoring junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients and perform routine CT procedures
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety procedures
  • Act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students
  • Verify physician orders and ensure accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients for understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment and complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Facilitate departmental operations, including inventory and staff schedules

Required skills

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • CT registry eligible within one year
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Computer skills for data entry and retrieval
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure
  • General knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics
