Overview

The Critical Environment Lead Engineer at JLL plays a vital role in maintaining the operational excellence of critical infrastructure across designated facilities. This position combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing third-shift engineers and ensuring effective implementation of preventive maintenance programs. The role demands hands-on involvement in the operation, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems critical to client operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of the Critical Environments Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment
  • Supervise and manage third-shift engineers
  • Perform daily inspections and equipment rounds
  • Complete corrective and preventative maintenance work orders through CMMS
  • Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions in critical areas
  • Enforce Critical Environments Change Control Process requirements
  • Create detailed incident reports and implement emergency response protocols

Required skills

  • Advanced knowledge of commercial or industrial building systems
  • Experience in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex facility equipment
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to safety protocols
  • Technical school education or military training in mechanical/electrical systems
  • Experience with Computer Management Maintenance Systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Experience in mission-critical or data center environments
  • Familiarity with emergency response protocols
