Job Description

Overview

BAS Healthcare is seeking a Critical Care/Trauma Physician Assistant to work in Robbinsdale, MN. This is a locum tenens opportunity at a Level I trauma center that combines community feel with access to the amenities of the Twin Cities, providing care for both adult and pediatric patients.

Key responsibilities

  • Function primarily as a trauma hospitalist rounder
  • Handle intermittent ED consults, trauma activations, and procedures
  • Round on 10-14 admitted non-ICU patients or 6 ICU patients per day
  • Manage 2-15 admissions/ED patients per 24-hour shift
  • Perform procedures including chest tube insertion and central line placement
  • Manage ventilation including BIPAP/CPAP
  • Respond to ED for trauma alerts
  • Facilitate patient discharges and ER admissions
  • Provide daily rounding and management of patient conditions

Required skills

  • Board Certified (ACNP, AGNP, PA-C)
  • Active Minnesota license
  • ATLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications
  • DEA registration
  • Minimum 1 year of practice as an APP in inpatient setting (trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics experience preferred)
  • EPIC electronic medical record system experience
  • Procedural skills in trauma care
