Overview

BAS Healthcare is seeking a Critical Care/Trauma Physician Assistant for a locum tenens opportunity in Robbinsdale, MN. This role primarily involves functioning as a trauma hospitalist rounder with some emergency department consults and procedures, providing high-quality care in a Level I adult trauma center with comprehensive support.

Key responsibilities

  • Function as a trauma hospitalist rounder with intermittent ED consults and trauma activations
  • Round on 10-14 admitted non-ICU patients or 6 ICU patients per day
  • Handle 2-15 admissions/ED patients per 24-hour shift
  • Manage ventilation, including non-invasive vent management
  • Perform procedures like chest tube insertion, central line placement, arterial line placement, and suturing
  • Respond to ED for trauma alerts
  • Facilitate patient discharges and ER admissions
  • Provide daily rounding and management of all conditions
  • Follow guidelines and meet non-clinical expectations for tracking
