Overview

Banner - University Medicine Tucson is seeking a dedicated Critical Care/Trauma Physician Assistant to join their elite Trauma team at the only accredited Level 1 Trauma Center in Southern Arizona. The role offers an opportunity to thrive in a collaborative environment focused on exceptional patient care and professional development.

Key responsibilities

  • Active participation during trauma activations
  • Comprehensive assessment of trauma patients
  • Ordering tests, consulting specialists, and arranging admissions
  • Performing chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, laceration repairs, I&Ds, and occasional intubations
  • Serving as a consistent presence on the team
  • Coordinating care through various channels
  • Maintaining thorough patient records
  • Working with case managers for smooth transitions of care
  • Surgical assistance when needed

Required skills

  • Board Certification as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • RNFA certificate
  • Arizona license or eligibility
  • BLS certification
  • TNCC or ATLS certification preferred
  • Surgical patient care experience preferred
  • Patient care or EMS experience
