Job Description

Overview

RecruitWell is seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a multi-specialty ICU team in Athens, Georgia. In this permanent position, you will work alongside physicians and other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to provide exceptional care to critically ill patients, with opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Manage life-sustaining therapies such as mechanical ventilation and hemodynamic support
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs and ABGs
  • Order and interpret lab results and adjust medications as needed
  • Collaborate with the care team for seamless transitions and discharge planning
  • Educate patients and families regarding conditions and treatment plans
  • Participate in daily rounds and case discussions
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education

Required skills

  • Current, unrestricted Georgia APRN (Acute Care NP) or PA license
  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited program
  • 2 years of ICU experience preferred
  • Proficiency in procedures such as intubation, central line, and arterial line placement preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • EMR: EPIC
