Overview

Right Path Law Group is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with 3 to 7 years of experience to join their team in Chantilly, Virginia. This role involves managing an active caseload of criminal cases, collaborating on case strategy, and representing clients throughout various court proceedings. The firm emphasizes a supportive environment with mentorship and dedicated resources for attorneys.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage an active criminal defense caseload in various Virginia courts
  • Represent clients charged with misdemeanors and felonies from arraignment to resolution
  • Develop case strategies, draft and argue motions, and negotiate dispositions
  • Appear at various court hearings and trials across Northern Virginia jurisdictions
  • Communicate proactively with clients in English and Spanish
  • Collaborate with the criminal defense team on strategy and workload management
  • Document all case activity in the firm's case management system

Required skills

  • Active Virginia bar license in good standing
  • 3+ years of criminal defense or prosecution experience
  • Trial experience in General District Court (felony and misdemeanor)
  • Ability to manage a deadline-driven caseload independently
  • 5+ years of criminal litigation experience (preferred)
  • First-chair trial experience in Circuit Court (preferred)
  • Bilingual Spanish/English fluency (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Northern Virginia courts (preferred)
  • Experience with serious felony matters (preferred)
